Kings Landing

My wife and I have three grown sons, each of whom are married with three children. We needed a place to accommodate all 17 of us that was mobility accessible. Bingo. King's Landing. We have just enjoyed a wonderful week of laughing together, singing together, eating together, praying together, playing games together, and just being together for our once-every-two-year gathering from Maine, Virginia, and Massachusetts. We have stayed at a number of places over the years, but nothing has compared to this. As one of my sons said, "This place really hits it out of the ballpark." One would need a thesaurus for adjectives like outstanding, superlative, and first-rate, to do justice to this house. If you can think of an amenity, it's quite likely here. The kitchen and laundry facilities are remarkable. Very spacious dining area and Great Room. Spectacular view of Moosehead Lake. Two-minute walk into downtown Greenville. Our grandchildren visited the public library, perused a book sale, ordered a snack or beverage from the new Greenville food truck, and stopped by other shops. They enjoyed paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking, karaoke, and the amazing game room. The adults enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. We heard the blast of the Katahdin, and watched as it was coming and going on its daily tours. We listened to the loons. We watched the gulls and what appeared to be three eagles or birds of prey soaring high overhead. We never met the owner, but we had specific evidence that he delights in a positive experience for his guests. The property manager (Bill Plume) was very kind and responsive to any needs or requests. And all of this is just the beginning. We would highly recommend this location to anyone. There are many ways to spend money, but we felt that this turned out to be the best possible investment that we could have made. There are nothing like memories of wonderful family times together in a spacious, super clean, finely appointed, beautiful facility like King's Landing.

The hosts were by far the best we've seen for property managers (we rent 4-6 homes per year between personal and business travel needs). The team was incredibly responsive, pro-active, professional, and just great people. The home itself is beyond compare - had every amenity needed; coffee, coffee makers - keurig and drip, laundry on 3 floors, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dishwasher det, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap in all 8 bathrooms, every possible pot or pan you could need, a dual air-fryer, high-end toaster oven. Other than food and condiments (and btw they have a huge selection of seasonings), they couldn't think of more to offer! The commercial grade ice machine was awesome and we used the bar every day (has it's own frig, sink, and any type of cocktail glass or instrument you need). AND they have wine openers - which is a peeve of ours at other properties. Such a great property - we look forward to revisiting on an annual basis.

We had a wonderful time at King’s Landing. First—the house and location is perfect. Walking distance to everything in Greenville, and spectacular lake views. The interior of the house is gorgeous, and decorated so nicely. Every single detail in the home has been thought of and attended to, and several of us commented that it was the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We appreciated the generous coffee bar and amenities. The teenagers enjoyed the game room downstairs and the adults loved gathering on the decks to view the lake. The house was so clean and had so many cleaning products to make it easy to maintain during our stay. I wish the property managers could come and set up my own home, because this was just above and beyond to make everything neat, organized, and accessible. If you need something for a baby, it’s there. First aid need— clearly labeled and ready to use. Forgot something—they will have it. The management team was so kind and quick to respond to any need or question that we had. They even offered to mail back some shirts we left in the dryer. This rental will make it hard to stay at other properties because we now have higher expectations after staying here. We can’t wait to go back!
